"all post fields" --> From?

Scott

I have a user that has a "from" field embedded in quite a few of her vCards. If this user trys to forward one of these vCards the "from" field in the email is autopopulated with this information resulting in an error when she clicks send stating she does not have permission to send an email on so and so's behalf.

I found this field filled in by opening the vCard, going to the all fields tab and selecting all post fields in the drop down box. There is a selection there call from and it has the information in it that autopopulates but it wont let me edit this to delete that information.

How can I get rid of it?

Thanks

First of all, the contact items stored in Outlook are not vCards. (Outlook can, however, generate a vCard for sending to someone else).

The presence of From information is normal. Outlook automatically stores information on who created each item. Is the From information different from her own? Are these contacts someone else created?

What are the exact steps the user is taking to forward the contact? What version of Outlook?

Outlook 2000
They are opening the contact then going to action, forward as vCard.
The information that comes up is this persons OLD email address (use to be a
..cc now it's a .tv)

All of our users forward vCards back and forth (kind of the point you know)
so does this mean they should be having these problems if outlook retains
original creater information?

And this is Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode or Corporate/Workgroup mode -- check Help | About? (I want to try to reproduce the problem on a comparable system.)

This is unexpected behavior. There's no reason that the creator information in a contact should affect the From field on a forward.

It may take me a couple of days to test this. In the meantime, the user should be able to display the From field before sending the message and remove the address there.

nope, the exchange server runs on a .local domain and has recipient policies
in place for the .tv domain.
