can I link a cell in Excel to a task in Outlook and vice versa

I am assigning tasks to an employee using the Outlook Task management tool. I
would like to enter a link in a task to a tab within an Excel Spreadsheet. In
addition, I'd like to link the excel spreadsheet info to a task in Outlook.
Is this possible? Is it available using the hyperlink tool? Or is there
another solution that handles this info better?
