How Do You Get the Date And Time to be in Bold Print?

T

Terry Pickett

OneNote by default puts the date and time at the top of the page. But, how do
you get it to be in dark print? It has it shaded out on the page and that is
how it prints. I looked at all the settings and I didn't anything for default
date and time.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's typical of you. You ask and then bow out from the stage. Why didn't
you tell Terry in the first place that, irrespective of version, date & time
stamp cannot be formatted at one's liking.

umm... I don't understand how you're *not* able to do this. I use OneNote
'07, maybe that's the difference?

I insert date and time on new pages, too. On my setup this is required,
since the default d&t are those for when the template were created. I want
the current d&t, so I switch to the lasso tool, select the date and time
block, and once selected...

SOLUTION 1:
....click on the small calendar that appears on the top right. From the menu
that appears, select "Today"; then, click the small clock on bottom right and
click 'OK' to set page time to current. Bad There's no way to reformat
text size, font face style or color using this method that I can find.
Otherwise, I can...

SOLUTION 2:
....click the 'X' button or otherwise delete this d&t block. Then I click on
a desired clear area on the page, with either the text or lasso tools and
click the "Insert date and time" button or menu item. This places the
current date and time in a fully formatible text field. Unfortunately, the
d&t are in 'mm/dd/yyyy, h:mm AM/PM' format and this format seems to be
unalterable from within OneNote. But, at least this method allows the user
to format size, color, etc. of the d&t for the note to somethig that can be
read/printed visibly.

Perhaps someone else could chip in with a way to format Solution 2 back to
'Mmm, dd, yyyy <br> time' ?

You cannot format the built-in date and time fields under the Page Title.

The date and time format used when you Insert | Date&Time is based on the
Time and Short Date formats as specified under Control Panel | Regional and
Language Options.
