Euro sign € does not appear in Outlook 2007 but does in Notepad

As of late I've noticed I can not enter the Euro sign (€) in my Outlook 2007
e-mails invoking CTRL+ALT+5 though I can enter that symbol in Notepad. I
simply copy it from another instance of it and use that as a workaround.
(On the '5' key also sits the % symbol; I'm pretty sure this is standard on
newer keyboards.)

The Regional and Language Options in Control Panel have the keyboard as
English (United States) - United States-International.

What am I not seeing in this? Thanks, DH

First, I apologize for my 'name' in the previous post. I had to redo my
newsgroup settings and was tired.

OK, back to the original post - the problem goes away if I close down
Outlook 2007 and start it up again. Ideas?

Thanks, DH
