Fast Searches with Tables on SQL Server

I have a database with an Access FE and my tables are on
a SQL Server. I link to these tables in Access. Search
on any field takes forever. What can I do to improve the
performance?

Don't use the "Find" tool with ODBC tables. You always get a full table
scan with that tool. Create a query or apply a filter with the criteria
you want. Then the selection will likely be passed to the server for
processing.
