Flashing/Recycling screen in PPT

I am working win PPT XP, in Windows XP. I have created a slideshow, using
OrgChart. When I attempt to edit individual slides in Normal View, the slide
starts to flash over and over, as if it is recycling or refreshing. This can
go on for several minutes or longer. It starts up again any time I click on a
text box, go to a new slide, or select anything. This is very frustrating.
Is there a setting or something that I can do?

Try turning down the slider in hardware accelleration. (display settings >
advanced>troubleshoot)
