I have a large (25mB) Word document, that has 100 screen
shots in it.
I have attempted to use the Image Compression rotine as
follows:

Select the first image in the document (or any image).
Right Click.
Select Format Picture.
On the Picture Tab, Select Compress.
On the Compress Pictures Selector, select the fllowing:
Apply to: All Pictures in Document
Change Resolution: Web/Screen
Options: Compress Pictures/Delete Cropped Areas
Click OK
Click OK

No activity seems to occur.
Upon saving the document and re-openeing it, it is still
the exact same size.

I have alo tried the "Compress" routine throught the
picture toolbar. No difference.

What am I doing wrong?

I have run across this problem before. In my document, I discovered that my graphics would not compress if they were "grouped" in any way. I had to go to each page, ungroup the graphics, some of them grouped in several layers, and then compress all. Then I had to go back and "re-group" my graphics back to where they needed to be

It's extra work, but it worked for me. If your graphics are not grouped together in any way, then that is a problem I have not encountered as of yet and I cannot help you

Hope this helps! -- Vickie
