I'm getting error 1311 when I try to scan a document into Office

This is my first attempt at scanning. I have an hp psc 2510 directly
connected to an HP Media Center PC and am using the Student/teacher version
of Office 2003. When I follow the Microsoft Office directions for scanning
the I get a message which says please wait while Windows configures
Microsoft, it stops and I get an error message "Source file not found..."
