PowerPoint banner prints only 1 sheet, not entire banner

I got some HP Banner paper, loaded it into my printer (HP Business Inkjet
1200) and tried to print a banner I created in Powerpoint. When creating the
banner in PowerPoint, I chose "banner" as the paper size. However, I noticed
that made the paper size 8" x 1". 1 inch? So I chose "custom" size paper
and made it 44" long by 8.5" tall. I typed "Welcome" as the banner. One big
long word. Tried to print, but it would only print an 8.5 x 11 sized section
of the banner, or just the "lco" section, the very center of my slide.
That's all it printed, not the entire banner. Any suggestions?

PowerPoint won't "tile" a slide across multiple pages, so unless you can set the
printer to a paper size of 44 X 8.5, it's going to only print a slide on an area
11 inches long and 8.5 inches high. In this case you would be better served by
using a program designed for making banners. You can probably locate either
free or low priced software to do this.
