PPT07: White table borders print black

When printing in grayscale or b/w, my white table borders turn black. I used
to be able to select the table in 2003, and convert it to grayscale to keep
the white borders, but I cannot do that in 2007.

I have taken to PDFing the file before printing in b/w, but this won't
always work for my clients. Any way around this?

Grayscale options are now on the view tab. But you should avoid printing
pure Black & White, all modern printers are capable for Grayscale.

Best regards,
Ute

I really appreciate your reply Ute. I do print in grayscale, but the table
borders still print black. I have been in the grayscale view, but in 2007 it
no longer gives me the option to convert the selected table to grayscale.

I am hoping to find a way to keep the white borders white when
viewed/printed in grayscale.

So, um ... since this is a serious design flaw that many people are upset
with, it would be ubercool to be able to ask Microsoft to please *fix it --
and sooner rather than later!* I know the knowledge experts who respond here
are volunteers, so I'm not mad ... just frustrated. How can I reach the
"powers that be" at Microsoft to ask them to give this some attention?

Trust me, I've b!tched about it enough that they are indeed aware of this
issue. I am not holding my breath for a fix, though. I will definitely
forward your plea along, too.

It can be done!

* Go to the grayscale modus.
* Select the tables (or cells) you want with no border
* Go to Format-tab
* Choose shape fill --> no fill

The only downside ofcourse is that, if your table/cells did have a fill color, it will lose the fill color.
