Problem with pasting ascii art in to onenote.

I have been trying to paste some text files with art in to onenote. I
have even converted tabs in to spaces, but onenote keeps wanting to
reformat my paste in outline mode and collapse everything. This is
really annoying. So here is an example of the text image I'm trying
to paste. Is there anyway to get OneNote to just paste as is?

Please let me know. Thanks!

Which version of OneNote are you using? I just tried it on the service pack
version and had no problem. I pasted it to the notes section of a brand new
notes page and got exactly what you show below.

I just tried it a couple of ways and the only way to get
it to paste in correctly was to select "keep text only"
from the Smart Tag-looking Paste Options menu, and then
apply a monospace font (such as Courier) to the text.

I was assuming that what I was seeing in OE was what the OP was meaning me
to see. However, when I adjusted the text to Courier, I see that there is a
difference. However, I only have to do the paste and then the font change.

I can't get the text to paste as an outline at all. I wonder what is
different between your system and mine...

FWIW, I copied and pasted from the non-Community web
interface. I don't know what difference that might make
in the format when placed onto the clipboard.

Back to the original poster's question: It seems from
what Kathy and I are seeing, you must apply (re-apply?) a
monospace font to the pasted text to get it to show up
the way you want.

I'm using the trial version that I downloaded from Micrsoft.com. I
had to do as suggested and choose the Keep text only and change the
font to courier. All is well now and I'm happy. Thanks!
