Research Services - Lookup - Office 2000

A friend has Office 2000. She is a high school student. English is not
her first language.

I find the "Lookup" facility in Word 2003 very useful. I think she woud
too.

Can I install Word 2003 (legal and paid for, of course) over her Office
2000 Professional installation? Will all the other Office 2000
applications work if I do? (She is a serious student and uses Power
Point frequently to create presentations, and Excel as well).

Do you have any advice or opinions about this?

Perhaps, I am simply missing a way to enable Research in Office 2000?

I did a cursory Google search for this topic but did not find anything
definitive, I apologize if it is something like [how to calculate age]
in the MS-Access forums, a topic that has been answered a million times.
