Hi,

Does anyone know how to stop the following occuring in
Microsoft Project (98);

When I enter a new task of 1 day and a start date of
23/03/04 then project defaults an end date of 24/03/04,
which to me indicates a 2 day task.

If I change the finish date to 23/03/04 the project then
changes the duration from 1 day to 0.88 days.

Thanks in advance.

Peter,

It has to do with the actual time that the task starts and ends. I
would suggest changing the dates to a format that also shows time, and
this may help you to understand what it's doing. Also, if you have any
successors to that task, they should indicate a start date of
24/03/04, which is logical as they cannot start until the morning
after a one-day task ends. So there really isn't any problem with the
predecessor task showing a start date of 24/03/04. I know others have
answered similar questions here and could probably explain this
better. Any takers?

Sarah

Thanks Sarah / Jan,

You've helped me sort this out.
