select encoding that makes your document readable

Good day,

i am not good with computers, i have had lots of items on my microsoft
office for the past year, like brocuhers, fliers, etc. i must have clicked
something wrong on my computer because everything that i could click on and
print or make changes and print that had words, pictures, etc. now all comes
up in a 6 inch box all the way around and says file version and whatever the
document may be.
underneath that it says
slect the encoding that makes your document readable.

the choices are.
1. windows default.
2. ms-dos
3. other encoding

then preview.

everything is in a text format or encoed format,

at the end it says o.k. or cancel.

i would like to get all of these documents back to where when i click on the
word document it appears as before when it had the brochure, or flier.
please let me know if you have any suggestions.
thank you,

Download RFT/DCA converter for Word - 84kb - Displaywrite text converter from
http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm.

upzip it

1) copy the Rftdca32.CNV file to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\TextConv"
2) run DisplayWrite.reg

hope it can help.
