Hi

I've just started working with Excel for Mac after working on a Windows version for years.

As I recall from a Windows keyboard, it was possible to type a square meter sign (little "2") and a cubic meter sign (little "3"), but I cannot find it on my apple keyboard.

How can I insert this?

Thanks

You may find it in the Character Palette.
Preferences > International > Character palette > Input menu

Check off ˆ character palette and, ˆ 'show in menu bar'.

Then you can click the flag in the menu bar and choose Character
palette. Probably more than you want but it may be in there somewhere.

The simplest: Key Shift+Command+= to turn on Superscript, type the exponent,
then do the stroke again to turn Superscript off. For digit you've already
typed, select the digit then use the keystroke.

This is such a useful short cut and one I was completely unaware of -
thanks very much for posting this.

Yeah, except for the small matter of the fact that it doesn't work in Excel
2004 :-/ My Bad...

And I can find no "quick" way to apply sub/superscript. Those are about the
only formatting commands that aren't available for keyboard assignment or
toolbar button. The only option - other than the Format> Cells route -
appears to be the buttons that *do* appear in the Formatting Palette.
