Ann Smith

I am trying to update my Office XP and I keep getting a
message that I need in load the CD "Microsoft Access 2000
SR-1 Runtime" which I don't have. All I have are the
discs that came with Office XP Professional.

Ann:

The Access run time may have been installed by any application that has need
for database use on your system. It may have installed it silently.

Open the control panel for the Add / Remove programs and see if you can
locate it there first to uninstall it; (of course think first if another app
MIGHT be using it; if you uninstall a needed component then it could cripple
an app.)

Not withstanding that you might try downloading the Windows Installer Clean
Up Utility from:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Selecting the Windows NT / 2000 version. You can then proceed to remove the
installer listing for the Access runtime and see if that helps.
