Cannot find #REF!#REF error

P

PJFry

I am running Excel 2007 on XP Pro.

When I open certain workbooks, I get the following error:
'Cannot find #REF!#REF, which has been assigned to run each time [Filename]
is opened. Continuing could cause errors. Cancel opening [Filename]?'

I have copied the worksheets into a new workbook, but the error follows.
There no errors in my formulas to trace this back to. I do link to several
external worksheets, but those links are not active when I first open Excel.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi PJFry,
When I open certain workbooks, I get the following error:
'Cannot find #REF!#REF, which has been assigned to run each time [Filename]
is opened. Continuing could cause errors. Cancel opening [Filename]?'

I suspect there is a defined range name in the workbook called Auto_open which
points to #ref!#Ref.
Download my Name Manager and check the workbook in question for range names
with errors and remove them.
