    Hi all

How do you change the project title?

This is my first time using project and when I entered the project name
initially, I didn't realise that I couldn't change it easily.

    I'd appreciate your help.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi FTRCjh,

I'm not sure when you say the "project title" whether you are referring
to the file name or the text showing in the Project summary task.

    Changing file name:
File > Save As. And supply the new file name. OR
Rename the file through the operating system (file must be closed)

    Project Summary task name:
If you are showing the Project Summary task (line 0 in the project
file), just type over the text.
    OR
File > Properties, and on the Summary task tab, enter the new title.

    Hi JulieS

Thank you for the quick reply, I'm so grateful.

When I print from Gantt Chart View, below is like a little legend and it
says Project: & date: well, that is the title that I'm trying to change but I
    don't know how to.

I tried your steps below and it changed the file name alright but not the
    above.

    I hope I made sense.

    Please help.

    Thank you!

    Hi FTRCjh,

You're most welcome and thanks for the feedback and clarification.

The information that show in the left side of the Legend at the bottom
of the Gantt Chart is the Project Title which can be changed through the
File > Properties command. What ever text is entered in the "Title"
    area is what prints.

To remove that text or enter other text, go to File > Print Preview (or
click the Print Preview button on the Standard Toolbar) and once in
Print Preview click the Page Setup button. On the Legend tab, click the
Left tab towards the bottom of the dialog box. You will see:

    Project: &[Project Title]
    Date: &[Date]

The [Project Title] is the field from the File > Properties command and
the &[Date] is the print date. You can change that information by
typing what ever else you need.

Along the lines of this question, I am having trouble having my updated
Project Title appear correctly up in an HTML file created from my project
    plan.

I am using Project 2003, and have updated the Summary field using
File/Properties, but the new title does not appear in my HTML file after I
    save it.

    Has anyone encountered this?

    Thanks

    Hi Mike H,

I'm sorry I cannot reproduce what you are seeing. If I change the title
of a Project in File > Properties, the title appears correctly when I
save the project file as an HTML file..

Just to clarify; changing the title *after* you save as an HTML file,
will not change the HTML file. You will need to save the changed
Project file as HTML once again to see any changes made to the Project
file. The HTML file is not linked in any way to the Project file -- it
is a snap-shot of the data that existed in the Project file at the time
    it was saved.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
