When i tried to insert new charts or graphs into my slides, the other
pictures, (charts/graphs/images etc) gets shifted. I have to re-arrange them
again.
Is there any way to work around this problem?

You should go to Tools > Auto Correct Options
In the "Auto Format as You Type" Tab untick "Auto layout for inserted
objects"

See if that helps.
