Configuration and stdole32.tlb problem

My OS is Win Vista Ultimate 64x and I have Windows Office 2007 Pro.

When I open Excel a configure window pops up and takes several
minutes (4 to 5 minutes) before the program opens. Each time I open Excel
it goes through the same procedure. Frustrating!!!!

Then a window pops up and all it says is stdole32.tlb .. I click OK
and the program starts. Too often, for no reason the program
freezes and dims out.

Any suggestions?
