Doubts on displaying progress lines on gantt chart

A

Aman Gandhi

I am preparing the Gantt chart for my project plan and want to draw the
progress lines across the Gantt bar. I am able to show the progress lines on
my Gantt chart, but somwhat it is behaving differently. I have few doubts:

1. I have a summary task that contains 3 sub-tasks and this summary task
shows 40% complete in my normal project view. But in Gantt bar, it displays
the peak on the left most side on the summary bar. As per my understanding it
should display the peak at the 40% level of the summary task.

2. In the Gantt chart view, I see that for some of the tasks, it does not
display the peak. As per my understanding, peak should be displayed on each
task.

Can you please answer these queries please. If it is possible, can you
please share your phone number, so that I can call you and explain you my
problem. I am based at Atlanta in U.S.

Hi Aman,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

There are a nmber of points here. Which version and Service Release state
are you using? Which view are you using for your "normal project view" - it
sounds like the Tracking Gantt, but have you created you own? Is
Tools/Options/Calculation tab set to Automatic calculation?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
