I've been all over trying to figure out why my "Table 5" gets a double entry in the middle of my TOC, plus it skips table 6 and goes straight to Table 7. I've tried updating the table numbers, no luck. My TOC codes look just fine. There are no hidden texts, no manual page breaks. Table 5 is in the middle of page 13, right after some plain ol' text.
I've copied and pasted the table header from other tables that work just fine. There is nothing here to indicate there is something different. I'm a pretty seasoned Word user, but this one has me stumped.
Now, to be completely transparent, this document has track changes turned on and has been around the block a time or two. I can't accept the changes in the document due to contractual requirements. What's a girl to do?
