What the heck does "end of file was reached" mean and what is an error-39?

1. This issue may occur if you have a damaged Identity database file.

Rebuild your database. How to rebuild:

2. The file that has reached it's end is often the preferences file. Move
the 'Microsoft' folder out of your local preferences folder and try again.
If this fails, end of file means the file is too corrupted to rebuild.
