Error (114)

I have installed Visual Studio .NET Visio for Enterprise Architects 2003. I cannot view data that was created with a standalone MS Visio 2003 Professional. Seems strange considering that both version are "2003". The only workaround found so far is to have the standalone users save as a previous version of Visio (2002)

Any comments or lead on how this can be resolved
Thank you

Sounds like you installed Visio EA from Visual Studio.net 2003, which is
actually Visio 2002 not Visio 2003. Stupid huh!

I recently have had the same problem occur. This is a new office for me,
so I installed the latest Visual Studio.NET & Visio 2003. At my previous
site, the option showed up w/o much ado. This site the option does not show
up and I can not find anything in the KB for this problem.2003. I cannot view data that was created with a standalone MS Visio 2003

Both are the 2003 ver. but I can not find what is stopping the UML option from not showing up in VS.NET.

Like I said before, I have had this working w.o much trouble at a previous site. The only change I can see that previous one had WIN/XP & Office/XP, this one has WIN/2K & Office/2K

What David Parker is telling you is that the version of Visio that is
packaged with VS2003 for EA is ACTUALLY Visio 2002 for EA, NOT Visio 2003.
This mismatched nomencature on the part of Microsoft has caused much
confusion to many.

Bottom line: If you create a diagram using Visio 2003 Standard OR
Professional, you cannot see it in the version of Visio that's packaged with
VS 2003 for EA.

The latest rumor is that Visio 2005 EA will contain Visio 2003 to keep the
confusion rolling...not sure when this will be released
