error 1335--OFFICE1.CAB is corrupt

I have twice run my Office XP Pro CD, and each time,
partway into installation, received the following error
message:
Office XP Setup
Error 1335. The cabinet file 'OFFICE1.CAB' required for
this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This
could indicate a network error, an error reading from the
CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
I tried once on my CD-RW and once on my DVD-ROM, and got
the same message.
What can I do?

Dear Susan,

Sorry to take so long replying. The article you suggested
did the trick. I used a microfiber cloth to wipe the CD,
and a lens cleaning disk in the CD-ROM. Voila! Everything
worked.
