Error -17895 every few minutes

I get error -17895 every few minutes when using Entourage to connect
to Gmail using IMAP. (during scheduled receiving of mail) Get the
error if I disable schedule and get mail manually. I have Live Sync
checked, but do not get messages unless I All mail functionality is
working fine, I just get this error repeatedly. I have to select a
folder or choose "Send and Receive" manually to get a refresh,a nd as
soona s I do either, back comes the erro message.

It's usually a server error.

Usually with these errors, I wait a good day and they go away.

I have multiple machines for several weeks getting this error. This
will not fix itself.

Only to gMail??
Obviously something disrupts the connection. It either the server (but
other people would have reported it too) or network issues.
Any problem with your network?? Flaky DNS, slow connections, downloads
lost int he middle??

ONly to Gmail, otherwuise, the networek is fine.

has been reported numerous times by others. I only find end user
responses that never reveal teh fix on teh server,a nd Google
"officially" will not help us. Entourage works fine sending and
receiving mail messages, but we keep getting this error, which is
preventing us from implementing Entourage as our client for Gmail.
(moving from Lotus Notes to Google apps) We have no other network
issues. We are in an enterprise environment with an IT shop of over
150 employees. All other network operations are good.

Are you using live onnections to the inbox (turn it off) for instance?
Did you specify the path prefix?? ([Gmail])

We made a change on our firewall overnight (lengthened the idle time
disconnect to 9 minutes from 4) and the error has stopped this morning.
