I overclocked my CPU from 1.6 to 2.0 on my old computer.
It wasn't stable, needed more power but I shut it down the manual way. Click
start, turn off computer, restart. In the BIOS I set it to 1.8. When it tried
to run, it saw multiple disk errors and the only drive that wasn't usable was
the drive that hadn't been accesed while it was set to 2.0.
Basiclly I fixed and salvaged everything (except the drive), my only problem
now is that whenever I try to run ANYTHING microsoft office 2003 pro tries to
instal. It will try 1 to 10 times.
I have searched for the error type, figuring it would be somewhere on the
microsoft or the office site. Alas they don't keep up with their own errors.
Here's a screen shot of the error, it tried to instal as I tried to update
windows, since the repair option wiped all the old dlls and security updates.
http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4888353 It gives a memory or registry
value, that I can't just copy and paste, which is why I provide the screen
shot.
