error 3249

I reinstalled microsoft office:mac 2004 on my G5. Everytime I check
email after the computer has been sleeping, I get the error 3249 saying
"Entourage cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is
connected to the network" Of course the computer is connected via a
cable modem. I usually click on the lower right corner to view the
error message and delete it, than i click on send and recieve and I can
get all of my mail. This is a minor annoyance, I just wondered if there
was perhaps a simple solution to rectify this?

Thank you,

Thank you,

The problem with "sleep" is that when the computer "awakes", the network
connections *might* not be restored fast enough for the program involved.

The simple solution is not to put your mac to sleep. Instead, put the
monitor to sleep. Another possible solution is to find a way to
introduce a delay into the Entourage mail check. I don't know if it is
capable of such a delay but have a look anyway.

Hope this helps!

Tim,
Thanks for your reply. I haven't found a way to introduce a delay for
the mail check. Guess I will just have to deal with this inconvience.
Funny that entourage never did this before the reinstall! I do
appreciate your help.
