Error 3358:Microsoft Jet engine cannot open workgroup information

Hi,
I am trying to open an Access database associated with a workgroup file. I
have joined this workgroup but when I try to open the db, instead of getting
a logon screen, I get the message "Error 3358 Cannot open the Microsoft Jet
engine workgroup information file". Can anyone please enlighten me on how to
get around this ?

I am getting the same exact message. Though if I even attempt to creat
a NEW blank database file I get the same message. I have unstalle
Office 2K pro and upgraded to Office Pro 2003 and back again. nothin
seems to work here. What could be causing this message? Any help o
resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Short of Wiping th
system and reinstalling everything from scratch I am at a loss here!!

Try this & see if it works.

1. Close Access, & all Access databases.

2. Find file "system.mdw" - it should be in a system folder.

3. Rename that file to something else - eg. "system.mdw.SAVED"

4. Try again

Post back & say if that worked.
