"File" menu item disappeared from "Worksheet Menu Bar"

Hi,

I am using Excel 2000. Suddenly have found the "file" menu item missin
(not near the "Edit" item) on the "Worksheet Menu Bar".

Tried running - Excel /a on the Run.. command line with no effect.

Also, tried resetting toolbars i.e. - Tools > Customize > Toolbars
Reset... (on the "Worksheet Menu Bar").

Need help....

I'm surprised that resetting the worksheet menubar didn't work.

But maybe you could just customize that toolbar and drag File back to its
rightful spot.

tools|customize|commands tab|Builtin menus category
drag File back to the toolbar.

if that doesn't help, you can reset all your toolbars by deleting the file that
holds the customized toolbars.

close excel
windows start button|search (or find)
look for *.xlb (look for hidden files and through hidden folders)

Rename them to *.xlbOLD and try it out.

if that works, dump the *.xlbOLD. If it doesn't, you can just rename them back.

But you will lose any customizations you've done.
