flowcharts on the web

Dear Forum,

How are you?

I want to create a flowchart, and then open it on the web. I want to use
various effects such as shading and background colour for the shapes.

When I save the flowchart in any of the web formats (single file web page,
web page, web page filtered) the chart gets mostly misshapen. I got
something in the end but not good.

I tried to link directly to the flowchart but nothing opened <a href =
"flowchart.doc"> Is there a format in word or spomething in html that will
allow me to open a word document that is on my server directly from the web?

Hope you are keeping well,

All the Best

Your best bet would be to display the graphic onscreen, take a screen shot,
save the screen shot in a web-supported graphic format (such as png, jpg, or
gif, depending on your needs), and use that picture rather than the Office
flowchart object itself.

If you don't have a screen capture program (such as SnagIt), the display the
flowchart in a Word window, and press Alt+PrintScreen. This will copy it to
the clipboard. Open Windows Paint program (it comes with Windows), and
choose Edit Paste. Choose File - Save As, and save it in the desired format.

Finally, open the picture using Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Choose
Picture - Crop, and trim away the bits you don't need, and save the file.
Now, you can insert that graphic into the web file and it should be robust,
and not be distorted in the way that the original flowchart was.
