Help, Accidentally Removed Tools Menu

John Walker

Hi,
I am using Access 2003, and while in "design mode" I went to "Customize..."
looking to see the properties of some menus. Then I went to the main menu
(not in "Customize...", but from the main menu which was already displaying
as a menu), and clicked on Tools and must have dragged it accidentally
somewhere because it is no longer an item on the menu. I can find no way to
get it back. Does anyone know what I did and how to correct it?

Thanks,
John

While in the Customize requestor, go to the Toolbars tab; you'll find a
button called "Reset..." that should reset your toolbars and menus.

Mark,

I was afraid to use "Reset..." because this is an application that someone
else wrote and I was afraid that I might reset some of their custom toolbars
and menus. Do you think I should be worried about this?

Thanks,
John

I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect custom menus and toolbars. Customization
to the built in bars is "computer-specific" whereas totally custom bars are
"file-specific".

As always, make a backup of the file before you try something that is
potentially hazardous. Then you can play to your heart's content!

It will only reset the menubar you have selected in the list.
