I created a power point presentation, saved it.
I then went in and started deleted slides and I OOPS! "saved it" INSTEAD OF
"saving as" as different name.

Does anyone know how I can recover the first saved version!

I need the 20+ slides I deleted back!!!

Please HELP!!!

Use your backup copy? Painful lesson isn't it? The free Sequential Save add-in
will protect you from repeating the mistake again because it can save two copies
every time - - a "before" and an "after" version. You'll find it at
http://skp.mvps.org/seqsave.htm.

Whenever I am going to make changes to a file for a different use, I open it and
save it immediately, giving it a different filename. Then I proceed with the
changes - - deletes, etc. After I've completed making all of the changes, if I
accidentally go to File > Save, it won't overlay my original file.

Another tip is to go to View > Toolbars > Customize > Commands and select
"File" on the left and click on the Rearrange Commands button. Highlight "Save
As..." and then click on "Move Up" until you've got it at the top. That way
you'll be less likely to accidentally select Save when you really mean Save As

Christine,

I feel your pain...... whoever decided to have "save" next to "save as...."
on the 'file' menu?.

Do what Sonia suggests...

FYI - Executive Software has just released Undelete version 5.0 with
new functionality that provides automatic version protection for MS
Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. If it had been installed on your
system prior to the OOPS moment, you would have been able to restore
the eariler version by right-clicking on the PowerPoint file in
Explorer, selecting "View Versions" and you would have been presented
with a list of fully restorable earlier versions.

You can get more info about this product here:
