Help with wwlib.dll - Causes WINWORD.EXE to crash

E

Erik

I'm having a problem with Word...I can't pinpoint when it started, but I'm
pretty sure it was after a 'security' patch update.

Faulting application WINWORD.EXE, version 12.0.6331.5000, time stamp
0x48fa27b4, faulting module wwlib.dll, version 12.0.6331.5000, time stamp
0x48fa2ae0, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00a4bd80, process id
0x1b20, application start time 0x01c97cd5be37c6d4.

I've had this issue for months now, everytime I use word it crashes,
usually, upon exit.

Thank you, but that page doesn't apply because mine crashes on exit. I did
empty temp files though.

It was updated due to a vulnerability. The error is usually because you have
an add-in that is looking for the wrong version of that dll. You need to
disable the add-in and then check to see if the supplier has an update.

I started having the problem after applying SP2 for Office. Word open but
mouse does nothing. Went to Word Optioins but can only access the first
page. Mouse will not select and down arrow won't move to next page so I can
get to Add-ins.

Mouse inaction is usually due to the Word DATA key corrupting in the
registry. Run Regedit and navigate to the key: with DATA selected, press
delete. Word will recreate a new key when it is restarted.

So far so good, the regedit does fix the problem, I was able o fix greater
than 10 machines by running a script to remove the Data entry. All is good,
Thanks all for not giving up.

Great, fixed my problem too.

I had no issues with the mouse, just Word always crashing on exit, but
deleting the Data key fixed it.

Fixed my crash problem also. Originally caused by a windows update installing
with a word file open... had stepped away. Be working on this for 2 days on
and off. this fix worked like a charm. Many thanks.
