How can I enter actual hours that are greater than the hours in the work column and not have the wor

I have no problem entering actual hours through the View > Task Usage>
Table> Work
The problem is when I enter actual hours that are greater than the
hours in the Work column. If the hours are greater than the hours in
the work column, these hours will automatically change to the actuals.

Is there any way of preventing this from happening?

Please help!

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

There's no way to prevent it, Project is designed to do it this way.
Basically, the work column shows Planned Work, what you are planning to
do. When you enter Actual work, that overrides what you planned.

If you want to keep a record of your original plan, you need to
Baseline the project, or that part of it. The Baseline Work won't
change when you enter Actual Work. For more on baselining, google this
NG.

Hope this helps in your world.
