How do I draw an organogram in Word or Excel?

There's a software within Powerpoint that can be used but it doesn't give
choice. For instance if I want reporting level boxes to be slightly higher
even if they report to the same manager. Is there any way to manipulate this
and could I use it in the Word or Excel Program as opposed to Powerpoint?

Hi,

In Microsoft Word 2003, On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click
the Organization Chart. On the Organization Toolbar, Click the Insert Shape
button and then choose Assistant or Subordiante.

-or-

On the Drwaing toolbar, click the Inser Diagram or Oragnization chart button.

All Office apps share the same Chart applet:

For an org chart click the Layout button on the Organization Chart toolbar &
select AutoLayout to turn it off. You can then resize any of the boxes as
you see fit. Click the edge of the box & use the appropriate sizing
handles.

I have tried this but, somehow, it does not always work. For instance I
recently used the organisation chart twice in one file. In one instance I did
manage to format individual boxes; in the other I just could not. I followed
the same procedure in both cases.
