If it works before a word I wouldn't describe it as disabled. In what
circumstances doesn't it work?

What is the "suggestion for Microsoft"??? Perhaps you need to change
YOUR settings in Options instead? Your "problem" is stated so briefly so
as to be difficult to say what setting you changed, one guess is that
you have the "WordPerfect" related boxes checked in Tools, Options,
General. Uncheck them and Apply.

FYI, after I received a Word document through an e-mail (but don't remember
which one) I had 2 problems begin to appear in my Microsoft Office 2003
program. One of the problems was I could not "delete" anything by
highlighting a word and using the "Delete" button anymore. I subseqently had
to highlight, right click, and click "delete" in the drop down. (Both
original problems were remedied)-- By going to Tools; Options; and
"UNCHECKING" the offending box. UNCHECKING- Word-Perfect as you suggested
fixed this particular "Deleting" problem. Note: I had NOT previously checked
these boxes in the Options field to my knowledge.
