How to recover a saved a file over another file

Robert

I inadvertently saved a file over another file that is
valuable. Is there any way to recover the original file?

Well there is a long shot, if you want to try.

Look in your temp files for a file that was saved on the same day as you
presentation update you lost and that is about the right size. It will have
the extension TMP. Copy the file to the desktop and change the extension to
PPT. Try to open it. If it fails, delete it and go to the next candidate
file. There may be hundreds and you may spend an hour or two doing this
only to end up re-doing the show from scratch anyway. But you make the
call.

Robert,

A long shot...but have you emailed the presentation to anyone....there is a
slim chance it's in your "sent items" folder
