I have outlook 2007 and is not allowing me to open .HTM files, it says it
can't creat the file. It says I have to check the properties of the folder
I want to create the file in and then check the properties, but I didn't try
to save it, I just tried to open it in IE !!!

Did you mean that you can't open .htm files in Internet Explorer or Outlook?
I don't think that Outlook is designed to do that, except for opening
HTML-formmated messages.

Thank you Steve,
I used to be able to open these files, a customers sends them to me as
attachments in her e-mails, extension is .HTM only. I used to have this
message after opening a few, and what I did was to close outlook and start
again. This is not working, and I can't save them either in the hard disk
or change the extension to save them. Nothing. Is there any way to open
them? The only change I remember I made is that I installed IE 8. Could
that be the reason ?

Claudia,

I recently installed IE8 on XP and am now having similar problems. If I send
myself an attachment with a .htm extension, I cannot read or preview it.
Outlook apparently can't write it to a temp location (C:\Documents and
Settings\<userID>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.Outlook\D3H8NH9S\<filename.htm>). Unlike you, however, I can
save it to My Documents and view it from there.

I checked the C:\Documents and Settings\<userID> folder, and it was flagged
as Read Only.
