Launch error in Outlook 2003

When I try to launch OUTLOOK 2003, this is the messgae I get:
'The extension configuration file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office|Addins\fldpub.ecf" could not be installed. There is an error in
the syntax or format of the file.'

I then click OK and the next one appears:

'Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Create a new profile by double
clicking the Mail Icon in Control Panel, clcking Show Profiles and then
clicking Add. After creating a new profile, make it default by selecting it,
then clicking Always use this profile.'

So I go to CONTROL PANEL, but once in there, when I click MAIL it says "you
need more memory or system resources" close some windows and try again.
Though I have no other window open.

I am really lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you may've upgraded from an older version of Outlook that
supported NetFolders?

Try starting Outlook in safe mode ....

Start | run
browse to the full path of outlook.exe
Add
/safe
(after the last double quote, with a space before it)

and see if Outlook opens. You ought to be able to remove NetFolders (which
OL2003 doesn't support) in the addin , maybe? I haven't used NetFolders in a
million years....check in tools | options | other | advanced....addins.
(Someone else may post more helpful detail here)

If that doesn't work, create a new Outlook profile.

You can delete the file C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office|Addins\fldpub.ecf the Outlook will start.

You can safely delete the file because it is not supported in Outlook 2002
and above.
