LDAP error -3260 when attempting to access global address list

I am connected to Exchange server 2003 with Entourage 2008. latest
updates and SP's installed.
I can send and receive and update my calendar and contacts. but not
seeing global address list. when I attempt to find it I get the above
error.

can anyone shed some light on this?
