Hi NG!

I can`t seem to find the template that is used in "Worknotes" (or similar),
that has the color-fitting gradient in the top left corner.

Can someone tell my the name of this template?

It isn't a template. It's a background picture.

Right click the page containing a gradient fill you want to copy and
unselect the 'Set picture as background' menu item. The picture will
now be selected. Right click and copy the picture.

Go to a new page and paste the picture. Move it to the top left of the
window (see below!) then right click and select the 'Set picture as
background' menu item. This will give the gradient fill effect.

You can now save this page as one of your own templates. (Ctrl+F1,
select Templates from the drop down list at the top then click the
'Save current page as a template' option. The template will now appear
under My Templates.)

Note: When I've tried to place a picture at the top of the note
OneNote seems to add about 1/4 inch to the top of the note above the
picture. If you keep trying to more it up more space will be added by
OneNote. I have not figured out how to place the picture at pixel 0,0
on the note so have had to live with some whitespace at the top of the
page. . Does anyone know how to do this?

Before you try the above copy the original page and work on that as
unselecting the 'Set picture as background' option can cause OneNote
to add some space at the top of the page.

Thank you very much!

I've now found a far easier way to do it:

Select the page containing the gradient that you want to use as a
template.
Copy the page.
Paste the page to create an exact copy.
Delete everything one the page (especially the title) apart from the
background image.
Create a template from this page as described previously.
Delete the work page you created in step 3.

No problems with space at the top of the page now.

That way worked very well (just tried it...).
Do you know how to apply templates to already existing pages?

I`ve done a couple pages by copying content to new pages, but that`s very
exhausting... ;-)

Unfortunately, that's the way you have to do it!

I've done 20 today and have another 100 or so to do!

I assume that you are using Ctrl-A to select everything on the page?
Sometimes you have to hit Ctrl-A a few times to select everything
(depending on what's initially selected). The Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V on the
new page is pretty quick. This doesn't copy the page title though!
This has to be done separately.

I acually got one frame only on each page. So I can go Ctrl+C all the time.
Well, not the most entertaining thing to do, but I don`t know any other tool
for quick notes...

Thanks for your hints and cheers ;-)
