MS Project Pro 2007 - remove Project1

When launching Project for the first time, it automatically opens a blank
project. Is there a way to prevent this - it just clutters the workspace.
Majoritiy of the time open a project from the server anyway. Just a nit!

The only way to do this is to specify that the software automatically open
the last project on which you worked. To do this, complete the following
steps:

1. Click Tools - Options.
2. Click the General tab.
3. Select the "Open last file on startup" option.
4. Click the OK button.

To the best of my knowledge, that is the only way to work around this
default behavior. Personally, I have learned to live with it, as this is
not "the hill I am willing to die on" so to speak! :) Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale,

I know there is way (fix), I will post once I find out.

Agree 100% with your sentiment, it's just a nit.

Dale - the "Project1" scenario gets in the way for us in the 2007 world. When
we try to open a project from PWA, it launches Professional with Project1 -
which inhibits the opening of the project we are trying to open. It has the
desired project in a checked-out status but it is not open. So we have to
close Project1, clear the Cache - then do a file/open in professional to get
the project open.

Any suggestions on solving this problem? I don't want to set the option of
"Open last file on startup" cause this is not desired. Any other solutions?

I cannot duplicate your problem, so I cannot even begin to hazard a guess as
to how to solve it. Would you please try reposting this question as a new
question and perhaps the others will have some suggestions for you? Sorry I
cannot be more help.
