MSOWC.DLL error message

I created an Access database with version 2000 software and distributed a
copy of it to another office. On the one machine that is running XP Access
we are getting the following error message when a button is clicked on that
is supposed to open a form. Here is the message....

"Your Microsoft Office Access database or project contains a missing or
broken reference to the file 'MSOWC.DLL' version 1.0.

*To ensure that our database or project works properly, you must fix this
reference."

How do I find the reference and fix it?

Hi Lorraine,

I had this problem recently. First, does your database have any web
components or need to reference the web? If not, go to the VBA Editor
(open your database and hit Alt + F11). Go to Tools -> References.
Uncheck Microsoft Web Components 11.0, FPDTC 1.0 Type Library, and
Microsoft Office XP Web Components.

I found that during one of the MS Office updates, it automatically put
these references in my database, they didn't get registered properly,
and I had no need for them. Thus the error.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tammy. As soon as my associate calls me back I will walk her through
your suggestion. I'll let you know if it worked. Thanks again!

Tammy,

We were having the same problem with a Database that one of our departments
is using. I am going to try this with them to see if it resolved the problem.

Thank you!

John
