I have a project schedule created in MSP 2003 utilizing some of the new
features, our client can open the project in MSP 2000 but they say it "errors
out" when they try to print or go to the print preview screen. I know 2003
and 2000 are compatible (the newer features are not available in 2000), but
are there any tricks to be had that get around a situation like this? I'm
curious to know if the view that the project is saved in has an affect on
this (If graphical indicators are used in the 2003 version and graphical
indicators are not in the 2000 version, will this cause the error?? Do I need
to modify the view and remove the indicators?).

Thanks in advance!

BJH,
the Indicator field shouldn't be an issue - it was first introduced in
Project 2000. Since the problem only occurs when your client tries to
view or produce a hard copy, perhaps there is a problem with your
client's print driver. Do they have the same problem with other Project
files? Another test you might try is to send them a simple file from
Project 2003 and see if that also causes a problem. If a simple file
doesn't work either, there might be some minor corruption in your file.
Go to our MVP website at: http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and take a look at FAQ 43 - File bloat? Might be corruption. If your
client does NOT have a problem with a simple 2003 file, then you might
try a process of elimination to see what attribute is contributing to
the problem.

Something else to consider, do both of your installations include the
latest updates (i.e. SR-1 for version 2000 and SP-2 for version 2003)?
Note there is a problem with Outline Codes with 2003 SP-2 - that may or
may not be relevant to you use.

Hope this helps.
