K

I have reinstalled One Note (2007) on the new Hard Drive. Now I want to
connect the old data files.

How do I do that?
What is the file extension for my old One Note (2007) files?

You guidance is greatly appreciated.

File / Open / Notebook...

Navigate to the folder where your original notebooks were. Select the
folder not a file. The sections (with the .one extension) are files
within the folder.

You can use Windows Explorer to navigate to the location where the old
Notebooks are (found by default in a subfolder of either:

C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\My Documents\OneNote Notebooks
(Windows XP)

or

C:\Users\{yourname}\Documents\OneNote Notebooks
(Windows Vista)

Right-click on the folder which has the same name as the Notebook you want
to reopen and select "Open as Notebook in OneNote" from the context menu.

Repeat that step for each Notebook from the old reinstall, and you should
be set!
