Outlook 2003 will not restart without reboot after normal close

I am running XP Pro with Office 2003 and McAfee. All of a sudden I closed
Outlook and then it wouldn't start up again. I rebooted and then it came up
after asking me if I wanted it to come up in SAFE mode, huh?? I said no and
it started normally and worked fine until I closed it and then it wouldn't
open again until I rebooted. I have tried everything from repairing Outlook
to completely removing Office 2003 and re installing it to no avail. Does
anyone out there have any idea what might be wrong???

when you close it, how long do you wait until you try to start it again? If
it's less than a couple minutes, that could be your problem. Or it could be
an addon that is not letting outlook close completely. We have Mcafee here,
and when you close outlook, it takes at least a couple minutes for things to
unload completely.

Also, you may try recreating the profile.

I waited 30 minutes. Outlook still won't start. I opened Task
Manager/Processes and after shutting Outlook down and then after 30 minutes
trying to start it without success, in the processes tab there are two
OUTLOOK.EXE processes running. One is using 4,892 K and the other 2,524 K.
Both are used by me and not the system and in the Applications tab Outlook is
not running.
What do you mean recreate the profile, you mean my mail profile?? Why would
my mail profile keep Outlook from opening??? Still looking for solutions,
Thank You, FELIX
