Outlook 2003 won't reply or forward

Background information: My husband and I share a computer. We sign in
separately and we each have an Outlook account. Two days ago we were set up
with a new internet service provider. Also my husband forwards his emails
from work to our home computer and there are almost 2,000 unopened emails in
his inbox.

Since the new ISP installation, he can send regular emails but forwards and
replies just sit in the Outbox. I tried manually clicking on the message and
hitting Send but that does not work. He said that this problem has occurred
before but it resolved itself quickly. This time it isn't going away.

I checked to see if I had the latest updates and found that 2 days ago there
was a security update installed, a spam filter for Outlook. That was the same
day as the ISP switch. I removed the update but there is still a forwarded
message sitting in the outbox.

I can send forwards and replies from my Outlook account with no problem.

Also, if I click on Send/Receive from his inbox, an error message appears at
the bottom of the screen. It flashes so briefly that I can't get to it to see
what it says.

I would appreciate any assistance with this matter.

Replying and forwarding tries to use the same account that was used when the
mail was received. Since you have a new service provider, probably you added
a new account. Since the account used to receive the message is no longer
operational, Outlook is having problems. Try deliberately choosing the
account using the Accounts button when you compose your reply.

Thanks Brian. I called my ISP tech help and showed them your reply via
screen sharing. She tried changing the incoming server and outgoing server
fields for the old ISP. That did not work but when we put the information
back in, the messages left the outbox. We are not sure why it worked but it
did. I have the new ISP set as the default. We want to give it a few days
before we delete the old server information. Also my husband promises to get
rid of a lot of those emails in his inbox.
