Problems With Microsoft Project 2003 Trial Version

Zenaida

I need help with my trial Project 2003 version installation.

I attempted to install a copy of Project 2003 Professional. It was from a
Project Management text for a class. It did not work.

I then uninstalled that version and today downloaded and installed Project
2003 Standard from the Microsoft site.

It also does not appear to work. I do not get any error messages.

When I try to open a project nothing happens. There are no graphs.

Oops, forgot to add, with the first install after a while the message was
that the trial had expired.

I have never installed Project on this PC.

Thanks in advance.

Sub in Office 11 and you should be all set.

Additional Info from my notes:
After the first install, I received this error message:

"The command is attempting to use a Web page from the site:
gbui://blank.htm/. You have not identified this site as a trusted site in
Internet Explorer..."

After trying again, "OK." I received messages stating that my trial has
expired.

So, I followed the instructions and added that site as a trusted site. After
I did that, I did not receive anymore error messages. Just a blank Project
2003 work area.
Which is what I get now after uninstalling that version and reinstalling
Project 2003 Standard today.

I deleted the trusted "gbui://blank.htm" site. I still get a empty Project
work area with no error message. I also tried to open a project file. It did
not open.

I apologize in advance, but I do not understand what you are asking
me to do. I went to this site:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm#Trial Booting. But, I did not
see assistance for my problem.

Thanks in advance.

The link was not working right. Go to number 6: Trial Booting follow
the directions there and it should get rid of your trial expiration
issue.

let's start there. I have not seen the gbui trusted site thing before.
lets see if we can get you past the trial issue and move on from there.

I went to Number 6 Trial Booting. It suggested that I:

try modifying registry key:
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1661544484-239356022-623648099-500\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\MSProject\Options\General.
Change value of FirstBoot from "No" to "Yes".

I went to regedit. I do not have the folder cited above. The closest I have
are 2 folders that start with HKEY_USERS\S-1-15-21-3935143360.

Thanks in advance for all of your assistance!

I also am getting the gbui trusted site issues since I have deleted that
from Internet Explorer trusted sites. I now have to go Task Manager in order
to exit the Project application.

I also received 2711 today on attempting project install. Had d/l'd the beta
awhile back and installed everything else, just now getting around to needing
and installing project. Any ideas or suggestions yet?
