What does the Start Column in Project Represent? Actual or Planned? There
is a planned start and and actual start column so what is Start column? The
same with finish????

Hi,

Start is the current plan.
If there is an Actual Start, that is reality, no way should the current plan
be different from reality: Start equals Actual Start if there is any.
The ORIGINAL plan can be found in Baseline Start or Baseline Finish... if
you did not forget to set a baseline before entering Actual Data (Tools,
Tracking, Set Baseline)

Hope this helps,

When you are planning your project, the Start and Finish fields show the
planned Start and Finish dates for each task. After you begin entering
actuals, the software replaces the Start dates with the Actual Start date
information, and replaces the Finish dates with Actual Finish date
information. Remember this mantra: Actuals always replace estimates. To
know the original planned Start and Finish dates, you must save a Baseline
for your project before you begin tracking actuals (Tools - Tracking - Set
Baseline). Hope this helps.
